Encouragement
If you need some encouragement today, here are a few things to consider:
-
You are valuable. There is at least one person who is thinking of you, and misses you. There are a lot of things in your life that others appreciate or envy you for. There are still people who believe in you. There are many around you who feel very fortunate to have met you.
-
You have not lost everything. If it feels like you've lost everything, it's just a feeling, it's not true. Any problem has a solution, and you are the kind of person who can find it. Nobody has bigger problems than they can handle. You have gone through difficult situations before, and you got through, safely.Everybody does mistakes. Nobody who is true to him or herself can look you down. There is nothing you could do so bad that it can't be healed or repaired.
Keep up your good work, it will amount to something great.
-
You're making a difference. Forget what didn't work, look at all the progress you've made. It may not feel like you've reached your goal, but look how far you've come!
Despite opposing circumstances, you are still moving along. Keep doing what is right, as what goes around does eventually come around.
If someone you know needs encouragement, follow these guidelines:
-
Value and accept them unconditionally, as they really are. That increases their sense of worth and confidence, and thus encourages them to grow.
-
Redirect their focus to existing strengths and assets. Point to the positive things and behaviours in their lives. If you show faith in them, they will come to believe in themselves, too.
- Show genuine appreciation for their contribution.
Recognize their effort and improvement, rather than requiring achievement. Reminding people that there is always more and more to attain will only discourage them, and will feed their sense of personal inadequacy.
