Group Counselling and Coaching
TOPICS

PURPOSE
We run groups in order to give our customers the benefit of healing within a small and supportive community, and in order to minimize the long waiting lists of customers requesting our services. A by-product of group counselling is the development of deeper friendships between members, and a support network that can function long after the group ends.
COST
Group Sessions are a great solution for customers who can not afford regular counselling. Group fees vary with type and provider, as well as number of sessions and participants involved. When paying for all sessions at sign-up stage, the cost is generally $20 per session for adults and $10 for children and teens. The low cost gives adults nine sessions for the price of two. At the same time, it gives children and teens 18 sessions for the price of two. Drop-ins are welcome for some groups, for a fee of $25 (adults) or $12 (teens & children) paid at the door. Some healing groups only involve minimal costs for running the group, which amount to $5 per session for adults or $2 per session for children/teens. Please visit our Fees page for detailed group costs.
Our group counsellors and coaches spend a lot of time preparing for their sessions, and they provide group members with valuable resources they can take home. Given the time and resource investment, we only start a specific group when we have at least 12 committed customers who have paid in advance for all the sessions of that specific group. In order to discourage lack of personal commitment during group therapy, group fees are non-refundable. If a customer has a legitimate reason to miss a session, we give the alternative of making up for that time by participation in a following similar group.
TIME
Groups are usually run on evenings and weekends (to allow for participation of full time working customers). Occasional groups that involve stay-home or unemployed participants may be run in the morning.
